FAQs
Return and Exchange Policy:
As the artwork is handmade and each piece individual I do not offer exchanges or refunds. I take photographs in the studio and in daylight so that I can show the most realistic impression of colour, detail and scale. On my instagram page, I also have close up’s which show the texture too. If you are interested in a piece of work and have any questions please do ask me before purchasing.
All sales are final - except for a few situations and a fee may occur.
Commissions:
I do take commissions, please contact me to discuss your ideas.
Creating a copy of a painting:
Unfortunately as I work expressively, it would be almost impossible to recreate a painting I had made before. I have tried this recently and although similar, it did not work. I can of course use a piece as inspiration, but it will not look exactly the same. I am able to create giclee prints of originals, so please ask if this is something you are interested in.
Use of artwork and images:
I retain all rights to the originals, prints and images of the artwork I create and sell. I would love the opportunity to appear in blogs, articles and magazines, but please ensure I am credited with appropriate links.
International shipping
Shipping outside of the UK is usually possible, but at the moment I am only shipping within the UK due to the changes in postage since Brexit. Once back up and running shipping costs will depend on your location and the size of the piece. Please contact me with your information before purchasing so that an estimate can be looked into. Importing fees, taxes and shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, so please ensure you check this.
Care and Construction
I use mostly oil paint on canvas to create my paintings, often building layers with a combination of other manmade and natural materials, such as soil, twigs and leaves. This allows me to create textures and imply a sense of the space and environment the piece was inspired by. Please be aware that this combination of elements may create variations in appearance as the piece naturally ages over time. As with any piece of artwork I advise the following when displaying and caring for your artwork:
Light: It’s best to display your painting away from strong light sources, particularly sunlight. The ultraviolet rays can cause fading, bleaching, darkening or yellowing of certain pigments.
Temperature and humidity: Paintings are a layered object with different physical characteristics that will expand and contract at varying temperatures and humidity. Keep your painting in a room with a stable environment that won’t be exposed to fluctuations in these conditions which could cause, distortion, sagging, cracking, separation, deterioration or mould growth.
Dust and debris. Use a very soft brush to delicately clean dust, debris and small insects that may collect on your painting, which if left could cause slow damage to the surface. If the painting is particularly textured, a smaller brush may be useful. Do not use water or cleaning products.
Avoid keeping your painting in or close to: outside space, bathrooms, direct sunlight or spot lighting, fireplaces/ heating or cooling devices, tobacco, air pollutants and cooking smoke.
